UTEP Miners

AUSTIN, Texas – UTEP beach volleyball wrapped up its regular season Saturday, April 18 at the Lone Star Classic, falling 5-0 to No. 4 Texas before dropping a tightly contested 3-2 decision to Houston Christian.

The Miners conclude the regular season with a 7-19 overall record, including a 3-3 mark in Conference USA play.

DUAL 1 #4 Texas 5, UTEP 0

Texas struck first with a straight-set victory on court four to take the early lead. The Longhorns extended their advantage to 2-0 after securing a three-set win on court five. Texas clinched the dual on court three with another straight-set victory before adding the final two points with wins on courts one and two to complete the sweep.

DUAL 2 Houston Christian 3, UTEP 2

Houston Christian opened the scoring with a win on court five and followed with another straight-set victory on court four to take a 2-0 lead. The Huskies secured the dual point on court two with a three-set win. UTEP responded with a victory on court one to get on the board, then closed the gap with a three-set win on court three.
