UTEP Men’s Golf Eyes League Title at 2026 CUSA Championships in Texarkana, April 27-30

EL PASO – UTEP will tee off at the 2026 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship at Texarkana Country Club (par 72 | 6,969 yards) starting Monday. The Miners are looking for their first league title in nine years following two straight match-play finals appearances. 
 
The tournament features a 54-hole, stroke-play format over three days, beginning Monday through Wednesday (8 a.m. CT/7 MDT start each day). The semifinals match play is Thursday, April 30, at 8 a.m. CT/7 MDT, while the finals will be later in the day, starting at 1 p.m. CT/Noon MDT. The final will be streamed on ESPN+.

Teeing off for the Miners are Dylan Teeter (70.4 stroke average), Patrick Foley (72.3), Branden Smith (72.9), Marc Keller (73.2) and Alexandre Godin (73.4). Godin will tee off first, starting at 8 a.m. CT/7 MDT, with Keller (8:11), Smith (8:22), Foley (8:33), and Teeter (8:44) following. Valentin Luna (74.8) will serve as the team's sub.
 
Teeter was named the CUSA Men's Golfer of the Week in back-to-back weeks (April 8 & 15). Teeter earned a school-record four conference weekly honors this season, while his six career honors are the most in program history.
 
UTEP, ranked #87 in the latest men's golf ScoreBoard rankings, will compete in an 11-team field against #174 Delaware, #143 Jax State, #114 Kennesaw State, #80 Liberty, #152 LA Tech, #283 Missouri State, #113 MTSU, #115 NM State, #148 Sam Houston, and #164 WKU. 
 
CUSA HISTORY
The Miners last won a CUSA title in 2017. Last season, #4 UTEP upset #1 Liberty in the semis, but fell 3-2 against #2 Sam Houston in the final. In 2024, #4 UTEP upset #1 LA Tech in the semis and then lost to #3 Liberty in the final, 3-2.

UTEP's Dylan Teeter rebounded with a 4-under par 68 during third round action to move up three spots, finishing third overall at Mississippi State's Mossy Oak Collegiate at Mossy Oak GC (par 72 | 7,212 yards) on April 13-14.
 
Teeter, after wrapping up the final round, was tied for first place with Ole Miss' No. 15 Tom Fischer and Mississippi State's Dain Richie at 7-under par. Fischer (68-70-70) and Richie (72-67-69) each had three holes to play, and both penciled in birdies on hole 17 to share the individual title at 8-under par 208. 
 
Teeter (66-75-68) opened the tournament with a 6-under par 66, tying the fourth-lowest first round in tourney history. The senior stumbled in the second round, but came up with another stellar round to finish in third place of over 100 competitors, firing 7-under par 209. Teeter led the Miners with 12 birdies and recorded an eagle in the first round.
